The Moser Engineering Axle Mania Program

Moser Engineering begins its ninth year with IHRA and the Axle Mania Program. All IHRA Pro-Am racers who meet the eligibility requirements will have the opportunity to qualify for the $51,000 purse, including the top prize of $22,500.

To be eligible, a racer must run a set of Moser axles, have the proper Moser Axel Mania decals on the car, and have completed the registration form available exclusively on the Moser Engineering web site Moserengineering.com. The form must then be verified and submitted to IHRA at the competitor’s first event. The Moser “Axle Mania” decals will be available at each IHRA Nitro Jam and Pro-Am event.

The top four eligible racers in each of IHRA’s seven sportsman classes and the “wild card” group will comprise the 32-car field in 2010. Points will be accumulated at Pro-Am Races only and in the same manner as IHRA Drag Racing Championship points. The ninth edition of Moser Axle Mania will be run at the Northern Nationals at U.S. 131 Motorsports Park in August. Points for the 2010 edition of Moser Axle Mania began accumulating at the 1st 2009 Summit Pro-Am event of the season in Immokalee, FL and concluded with the final Summit Pro-Am Event of the season.

Moser Axle Mania will be run with a full tree on an eighth-mile standard. The third round pairings or winners from each eliminator sub-group will be drawn at random and placed on a sportsman ladder during the off-season. The highest seed will get lane choice in round 1 and round 2. The best reaction time will get lane choice for the remaining rounds.  If a racer changes classes before the 2010 event, he or she may enter the new car as long as it fits in the IHRA sportsman class he or she qualified in. The purse will be as follows: Winner: $22,500; Runner-Up: $7,500; Semi: $1,500; Quarters: $1,000; Eighths: $750; Sixteenths: $50. Click here for link to Axle Mania entry form
